Opening a Photo

BeFunky gives you a few different options to upload or open an image and get started with editing. These are all found under the Open menu in the Main Navigation Bar.


Choose Computer to find your image in your computer’s hard drive. Select the image and click Open to open it in BeFunky.

You can also drag and drop an image file from your computer directly onto your canvas.

Supported File Types:

  • BeFunky supports JPEG/JPG (common file format for digital cameras), GIF, BMP, and PNG file formats.
  • RAW files are not compatible with BeFunky. You'll need to convert them into JPEG or another supported file type to import into the BeFunky editor.


Opening an image saved to your BeFunky AccountYou can save and upload images directly to BeFunky. If you have images or projects already stored to your BeFunky account, select this option to see all of your saved files and select the one you’d like to work on.

Google Drive: 

BeFunky supports integration with Google Drive, and will open files uploaded to your Drive.
Login with your Google credentials to start Google Drive and select the image you’d like to open into BeFunky.

Stock Images: 

Through our seamless integration with Pixabay and Pexels you can choose from over a million stock images, completely for free!
Use keywords to search for the image you’re looking for, then click on it to open directly to your canvas.


Connect to BeFunky with your Facebook credentials to browse your photo albums and upload images directly from your Facebook page.


Opening an image with DropboxWe also support integration with Dropbox. Use your credentials to login, and select your images from your Dropbox account.


Choose Webcam to open your computer’s built-in camera and take your first picture to edit. Make sure to Allow access to your webcam when selecting this option.
