There are a few fundamental photo editing techniques to get familiar with as you start editing your first photos.
1. Upload
BeFunky gives you a few different options for uploading your images under the Open menu:
-
Directly from your computer
-
From your BeFunky account
-
Linked to your Google Drive
-
Linked from Facebook / Dropbox
-
Take a picture from your Webcam
-
Use a Stock Image
-
Our partnership with Pixabay, Pexels and Unsplash gives you access to over a million free stock images
-
- Drag and drop your file straight from your computer onto the canvas
2. Crop
Use the Crop tool to trim off edges of your image, change the aspect ratio, orientation or size dimensions.
3. Resize
The Resize tool will let you scale your image down or up. You have the option to manually enter your desired pixel dimensions, or slide the Resize tool to see it change and repopulate in real time.
4. Exposure
Use Exposure to change the brightness of your image, increase contrast, or shift the highlights / shadows to balance out over/underexposure.
5. Sharpen
If your images look a little fuzzy, the Sharpen tool will help by enhancing the edges of your image to give it clearer definition.
6. Color
The Color tool has 3 sliders to adjust your image’s color profile.
-
Use Hue to shift the overall color profile of your image.
-
Use Saturation to boost the color more vibrantly, or tone down an oversaturated image.
-
Use Temperature to add an overall warmth or coolness to an image.
You can also use the Paint panel of the Color tool to only apply your adjustments to selected areas of your image, or erase parts of the image you don’t want affected.
7. Save
You have the options to save directly to your computer, save online to your BeFunky account, connect your Google Drive, or use Facebook / Dropbox / Twitter or Pinterest.
You can also save as a BeFunky Project file (.BFD) which will keep all of your layers intact if you’d like to revisit it later, or choose to save in JPEG, PNG or PDF.
