No. You can use many of BeFunky's free features without creating an account.
You can use free features in the Photo Editor, Collage Maker, and Graphic Designer without signing in.
However, some BeFunky features require you to create or sign in to a free BeFunky account.
When Do I Need a BeFunky Account?
Creating a free BeFunky account gives you access to account-based features, including:
- Saving to BeFunky: Save images and projects to your BeFunky account so you can access them again when you sign in.
- Image Generator: Create AI-generated images from text prompts. Free users must be signed in and have a verified email address to generate images.
- BeFunky Plus or Pro: A BeFunky account is required to purchase and use a paid subscription.
Using Image Generator With a Free Account
Free BeFunky accounts can generate up to 20 images over the lifetime of the account. This allowance does not reset.
To use Image Generator for free, you must be signed in to your BeFunky account and have a verified email address.

Do I Need a Paid Subscription?
No. Creating a BeFunky account is free, and you can continue using BeFunky's available free features without purchasing a subscription.
If you want access to additional premium editing, design, collage, Image Generator, or Batch features, you can upgrade to BeFunky Plus or BeFunky Pro.
- BeFunky Plus: Includes premium Photo Editor, Collage Maker, and Graphic Designer tools, Image Generator credits, and standard Batch Classic Editor workflows.
- BeFunky Pro: Includes everything in Plus, along with AI-powered Batch tools such as Batch AI Editor and Batch Background Remover, plus a larger monthly credit allowance.
