This guide explains how BeFunky Pro credits are used, how many credits each tool requires, when your monthly credits refresh, and how Image Generator credits work across BeFunky.
Important Note: The monthly credit allowance and credit usage described in this article apply to active BeFunky Pro subscriptions.
How Many Credits Are Included With BeFunky Pro?
Every active BeFunky Pro subscription includes 5,000 Subscription Credits per month.
Both Monthly and Yearly Pro subscriptions receive the same monthly credit allowance.
Subscription Credits refresh automatically:
- Monthly Plans: Credits refresh with each monthly billing cycle.
- Yearly Plans: Credits refresh monthly based on your Pro subscription start date.
What Tools Use BeFunky Pro Credits?
BeFunky Pro credits are used with the following tools:
- Image Generator: Credits are used each time a new image is generated.
- Batch AI Editor: Credits are used each time images are processed with AI Editing tools or AI Artsy effects.
- Batch Background Remover: Credits are used each time images are processed to remove their backgrounds.
Using Image Generator Across BeFunky
Image Generator uses BeFunky Pro credits whenever you generate a new image, regardless of where you access Image Generator in the app.
You can use Image Generator from:
- Photo Editor: Create a new AI-generated image to open and continue editing in the Photo Editor.
- Graphic Designer: Create a new AI-generated image to add to your design project.
- Image Manager: Generate new images to add to your Image Manager and use in a project.
- Background Remover: Generate a custom replacement background.
- Sky Replacer: Generate a custom replacement sky.
- Batch Classic Editor: Generate new images when adding images to a batch.
- Batch AI Editor: Generate new images when adding images to a batch.
- Batch Background Remover: Generate new images when adding images to a batch.
Each newly generated image uses 5 BeFunky Pro credits, regardless of where Image Generator is accessed.
Important Note: Credit usage for Image Generator is separate from credit usage for processing images with Batch AI Editor or Batch Background Remover. If you generate an image with Image Generator and then process that image with one of these Batch tools, credits are used for both actions.
Regular photo editing and standard Batch Classic Editor edits do not use credits. However, if you use Image Generator from one of these workflows and generate a new image, that generation uses 5 credits.
How Are BeFunky Pro Credits Calculated?
The number of credits used depends on:
- The tool being used
- The number of images processed
- The number of edits applied
- The number of new images generated
Credit usage by tool:
- Image Generator: 5 credits per newly generated image
- Batch Background Remover: 1 credit per image
- Batch AI Editor (AI Editing Tools): 1 credit per image each time the image is processed
- Batch AI Editor (AI Artsy Effects): 3 credits per image each time the image is processed
How Image Generator Credits Are Used
Changing your Image Generator prompt, Aspect ratio, or Variation does not use credits by itself. Credits are used when you select Generate and a new image is created.
Each newly generated image uses 5 credits. If you make another change and generate another image, an additional 5 credits are used.
Viewing or saving an existing image from Image Generations does not use additional credits.
Pro Tip: Make all intended changes to your prompt, aspect ratio, and variation before selecting Generate. This can help avoid creating unnecessary images and using additional credits.
Using Image Generator With Batch AI Editor or Batch Background Remover
When Image Generator is used as part of a Batch workflow, generating the image and processing the image are separate credit-based actions.
For example, if you generate one new image with Image Generator and then process that image with an AI Editing tool in Batch AI Editor:
- Generate 1 image with Image Generator = 5 credits
- Process the image with a Batch AI Editor AI Editing tool = 1 additional credit
- Total = 6 credits
If you generate one image and then process it with an AI Artsy effect:
- Generate 1 image with Image Generator = 5 credits
- Process the image with a Batch AI Editor (AI Artsy effect) = 3 additional credits
- Total = 8 credits
If you generate one image and then process it with Batch Background Remover:
- Generate 1 image with Image Generator = 5 credits
- Process the image with Batch Background Remover = 1 additional credit
- Total = 6 credits
Pro Tip: To avoid using credits across your entire batch while testing an effect, select a single image before processing.
Which Credits Are Used First?
Subscription Credits are the monthly credits included with your BeFunky Pro subscription. Your Subscription Credits are always used first.
Once your Subscription Credits are exhausted, any available Top-up Credits are used automatically.

If you use all of your monthly Subscription Credits before they refresh, you can purchase additional Top-up Credits from your Account Page.
Top-up Credits are available to active BeFunky Pro subscribers.
BeFunky Pro Credit Usage Example
The example below shows how credits are calculated when processing multiple images with a Batch AI Editor AI Artsy effect.
In this example:
- 8 images are added to the batch
- Neon Noir GFX+ is selected
- Processing the effect costs 3 credits per image
- Changing Fidelity or Variation settings requires the effect to be reprocessed at 3 credits per image
Initial processing:
- 8 images × 3 credits = 24 credits used
Reprocessing after changing settings:
- 8 images × 3 credits = 24 additional credits used
Total credits used:
- 48 credits
