Create a Custom Grid Layout

Create a Custom Grid Collage

The Custom grid layout gives you full control over your collage design. Instead of starting with a preset, you can choose the exact number of rows and columns, along with your preferred aspect ratio. It’s a quick way to get the layout you want—just the way you imagined it.

Step 1: From the Layout tab, select Custom.

Step 2: In the Custom window, enter the number of rows and columns you want. You can type in the numbers or use the arrows to adjust. You can use up to 26 rows and 26 columns.

Step 3: Choose your aspect ratio. Enter custom dimensions (width × height), or select from the preset ratios drop-down menu. Then choose either portrait or landscape orientation.

Step 4: Fill your layout.

  • Click the Autofill button in the Image Manager to automatically fill your grid with the most recently added images.
  • Drag and drop images from the Image Manager into any cell, or double-click to place them into an empty cell automatically.
  • Drag image files from your computer directly into any cell. If there are no empty cells, the image will appear in the Image Manager.
  • Copy and paste images from your computer or the web. You'll be prompted to add them as Layers or fill Grid Cells. If your layout is full, images will be saved to the Image Manager.

Step 5 (optional): Use the Customize tab for additional design options.

  • Background Color: Set the color between your cells using pre-selected swatches or open the Color Picker to choose your own.
  • Spacing: Adjust the slider to increase or decrease the space between cells.
  • Corner Rounding: Use the slider to round or square the edges of each cell.
  • Resize: Adjust the width and height using the sliders, or drag the corners of your collage on the canvas. Enable Lock Aspect Ratio to keep proportions consistent.
  • Rotate: Click and drag an image to rotate it within its cell while keeping the cell’s orientation.
  • Flip: Flip the entire layout horizontally or vertically without changing cell orientation.

Step 6: Continue customizing your collage. When you're finished, don’t forget to save your project!
