Adding Seasonal Winter Effects

BeFunky's Photo Editor has a wide variety of photo effects, including seasonal specific effects to help spice up your image for the season. These effects are fully customizable, and allow you to apply to a specific area.

Some tools are only available for BeFunky Plus subscribers. Upgrade your subscription here!

Step 1: Open your image in the Photo Editor.

Step 2: Under the Effects menu, scroll to the very end until you find Winter.

Step 3: You’ll see three options for Winter 1, Winter 2, and Winter 3. Winter 1 gives you an icy, frosted-over effect, and Winter 2 creates the illusion of snowfall on your image. Winter 3 creates an icy frosted edge. In this example, we’ll use Winter 2.

Pro Tip: Since this is a rather intense effect, you may want to dampen the impact to look more realistic. Use the main adjustment slider to lower or heighten the opacity of the effect overall.

Step 4: Click on the Settings menu for more options. Here you can use the Amount slider to control how heavy the effect is applied, Size to adjust the size of the effect, or use Opacity to change how opaque it is over your image.

Step 5: Using the effect in Select mode can work well in applying these kinds of effects to images. Click on the effect Settings, and select the Select panel.

Step 6: Experiment with Brush Size, Hardness, and Strength. Change the Brush Settings to meet your desired look.

Step 7: Click Apply to save your changes.

Step 8: Continue adding to and editing your creation. If you're done, be sure to save your project!
