Adding Seasonal Winter Effects

BeFunky has a wide variety of photo effects, including seasonal specific effects to help bring a topical flair to your work.

Step 1: Bring an image you’d like to work on into the Photo Editor.

Step 2: Under the Effects menu, scroll to the very end until you find Winter.

Step 3: You’ll see two options for Winter 1 or Winter 2. Winter 1 gives you an icy, frosted over effect, and Winter 2 creates the illusion of snowfall on your image. In this example we’ll use Winter 2.

Adding Winter Photo EffectsSince this is a rather immersive effect, you may want to dampen the impact to look more realistic. Use the main adjustment slider to lower or heighten the opacity of the effect overall.

Step 4: Click into the Settings menu for more options. Here you can use the Amount slider to control how heavy the effect is applied, or use Opacity to change how opaque it is over your image.

Winter 1 and Winter 2 EffectsStep 5: Using the Paint brush can work well in applying these kinds of effects to images. For example, first apply the effect to the whole image. Then go into the Paint panel. This will allow you to erase the effect off certain parts of the image to make it look more natural.

Step 6: Experiment with Brush Size, Hardness and Strength. Keep the brush hardness low so there aren’t any sharp lines, and reduce the brush strength so it is not completely wiping the effect off, just making it more subtle.

Step 7: Click Apply to save your changes. Then save your image and share it with the world!

Step 8: Continue adding to and editing your creation. If you're done, be sure to save your project!
