Applying Effects on Selected Areas with Erase Mode

When using BeFunky's effects, they often cover the entire canvas. Erase Mode, allows you to apply a specific filter/effect on a particular area of an image. This was previously called Paint Mode in BeFunky, and works the exact same way!

Step 1: Click the effect to apply it to the entire image.

Step 2: Click into the effect settings, and select the Erase panel.

Step 3: Adjust your brush size, brush hardness, and brush strength.

Step 4a: Erase the effect from the subject of your image. Begin erasing the areas you wish to have the applied effect removed.

Step 4b: Apply the effect to the subject of your image. Select the Inverse button to reverse the applied effect. Begin painting on the effect in the areas you wish to apply the effect.

Step 5: Use Remove/Keep to either add or subtract parts of the effect on your image.

Pro Tip: You can also click the Isolate Subject button for our AI to do this for you!

Step 6: Click Apply to save your changes. Continue adding to and editing your creation. If you're done, be sure to save your project!
