I find the new cartoonizers harder to use and not that user friendly..... the old way was better one click and you were a cartoon now you have to make adjustments and its not the same..... much uglier :(

Actually the old Cartoonizer effects didn't change. The order of the presets has changed, so make sure you try all of them to find your favorite one. We just added new Cartoonizer presets and made it easier to access to the settings panel. The settings were also available in the older version, but didn't show up automatically.
The reason you think they are uglier might be because of the effect you try doesn't do well with the photo you try it on. You can attach examples here or send them to support [at] befunky.com to help us figure out the problem.

I am unable to cartoonize a photo. I've done this twice previously with no problems. Do you limit the amount of free effects before you have to upgrade? I can't understand why it won't let me select a free effect when it worked previously. I checked the FAQs and made sure befunky was added as a trusted site. Still not working. Please help.

It's true that the cartoonizer has changed, one of the effect has been removed from the free version and added to the premium packaged (at least the one with the clusters. Actually that's the only one i was using to perform a cartoon for my family. I'm working on this project for now 2 years, and it is not finished yet, sometimes drawing myself, sometimes using befunky.
Actually this means for me that i can't use befunky anymore, and my cartoon book project is compromized now... I would be happy to help improving Befunky, if befunly can help me. This is not a commercial cartoon book. If you give me access to the cartoonizer with the cluster, i can for example give you the right translation in french of the tools, options and effects. Actually the french translation is a shame... "é" characters are missing.
i was speeking of the one with halfstone, not clusters :-)
I'm having the same problem as OOjade and a couple of others. I have paid for the Premium package! It's nothing like it used to be - one click and you're cartooned. I don't know what I'm doing wrong??
